Job Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one pastoral and emotional support to students experiencing distress or behavioural challenges.
- Build trusting relationships and promote positive coping, emotional regulation and resilience.
- Identify, monitor and support students who may be vulnerable or at risk.
- Conduct regular check-ins and monitor student behaviour, attendance and well-being.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of student cases and interventions.
- Respond to emotional or behavioural incidents and provide appropriate de-escalation and crisis support.
- Support social-emotional learning, peer support and early intervention programmes.
- Communicate with parents/guardians and coordinate with relevant school personnel and external agencies where required.
Job Requirements
- Minimum Diploma in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work, Education or a related discipline.
- At least 2 years of experience in student well-being, pastoral care, behavioural support, counselling or mentoring.
- Strong empathy, interpersonal and active listening skills.
- Able to build rapport with primary school-aged students.
- Calm, patient and composed when handling challenging situations.
- Basic conflict resolution and behaviour management skills.
- Good judgement and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Duration/Working Hours:
1 year (Jan 2027 to Dec 2027) - option to extend to 12 months
Mondays to Fridays: 7:15am to 2:45pm, inclusive of 1hr lunch break,
unless otherwise required by School.
Officer may be required to put in additional hours should there be
students requiring support beyond working hours, of which he/ she will
be paid on an hourly rate of pay for services rendered.
Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays, gazetted public holidays
and school holidays (unless otherwise required by the school).
