About the job Sciene Lab Assistant (Marine Terrace)

1. To assist the Science Department in maintaining 4 science

laboratories.

2. To assist teachers in preparing and laying out of apparatus/materials

in the 4 science laboratories to support Primary 3 to Primary 6

Science classes (Total of 46 science classes).

3. Ensure secured storage and safe handling of chemicals and

equipment. Maintain up to-date chemical inventory and Material

Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).

4. To source through trusted online websites for relevant Science

multimedia, activity ideas, and resources for teachers.

5. To liaise with external suppliers for regular maintenance of lab

equipment.

6. To assist the Science department in the procurement of items

required by the teachers for laboratory work. This includes sourcing

for quotations and making recommendations to school.

7. To communicate effectively with teachers to prepare

items/apparatus/equipment needed for the science practical

examination, science performance task, teachers training workshop

or any workshops conducted by the science department.

8. To assist teachers in troubleshooting equipment such as data

loggers and microscopes during lessons.

9. To ensure that the inventory and consumables in the science

laboratories are well maintained and accounted for, including

monitoring of usage and timely replenishment of stock.

10. Work with Science department and schools Fixed Asset Manager in

the termly and annual stores verification exercise. This includes the

identification and recommendation for disposal of redundant/

obsolete stores and preparation of redundancy/ condemnation

documents

Requirement:

Qualifications
The Personnel shall minimally possess a GCE O Level Certificate with
4 passes (including English) or equivalent.
Skills
1. Proficient in MS Office (i.e., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
2. Have knowledge in stores/ resource management and procurement.
3. Skills and knowledge in handling science apparatus and equipment
used in primary school experiments, laboratory safety procedures
and participation in school external safety validations is preferred.
4. A good team player who is able to multi-task.
Experience
The Personnel should preferably have:
1. Two years of experience in maintaining science laboratories.
2. Experience in working in an MOE school environment.

Duration / Working hours:

12 months contract (Option to extend another year) 1 Jan 2026 to 31 Dec 2026

Mondays to Fridays: 7:15am to 1:45pm, with no lunch break
Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays, gazetted public
holidays, and school holidays (unless otherwise required by the
school).
