About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and hands-on Service Engineer to support mission-critical data centre operations. In this role, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Computer Room Air Conditioning (CRAC) and Water Detection Systems (WDS), ensuring system reliability and compliance with safety standards. You will also play a key role in supporting clients on-site, managing contractors, and keeping operations running smoothly in high-stakes environments.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Service & Maintenance
- Perform scheduled servicing, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of CRAC/WDS systems.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware/software issues, providing root cause analysis and solutions.
- Carry out equipment power-up/down procedures and respond promptly to emergency calls (e-calls).
Client Support & Training
- Provide on-site technical support and conduct training based on Operations & Maintenance Manuals (OMM).
- Build strong working relationships with clients, particularly site engineers.
- Liaise with customer engineering teams to ensure service quality and compliance with standards.
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare detailed service reports after each maintenance activity or emergency call.
- Submit weekly/monthly progress reports and highlight any required remedial actions.
- Maintain proper documentation, filing, and service records for traceability.
Site & Contractor Management
- Oversee contractor activities to ensure compliance with safety and operational procedures.
- Review site events/incidents, implementing corrective measures where required.
- Plan, execute, and update daily work schedules effectively.
Safety & Compliance
- Adhere strictly to data centre safety protocols and occupational safety regulations.
- Ensure all work activities meet quality, safety, and operational standards.
- Support additional tasks and projects as assigned by supervisors.
Requirements
- ITE/Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in maintenance engineering (ACMV/DX systems preferred).
- Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical/mechanical systems.
- Practical knowledge of CRAC, WDS, or other critical facility infrastructure.
- Good problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Highly organized, able to work under pressure, and a strong team player.
- Willing to perform standby duties, overtime, and work on weekends/public holidays.
- Physically fit to handle on-site tasks in data centre environments.
Work Environment
- Frequent site visits and emergency call-outs are part of the role.
- Close interaction with contractors, clients, and site engineers.
- Strict compliance with safety requirements (PPE, confined space procedures, etc.).
Working Location: Kaki Bukit
Working hours: 5.5 work week
