Transaction Services Senior Manager - Hong Kong

 Job Description:

CharteredPartners is seeking a Transaction Services Senior Manager to join the corporate finance & advisory practice of a leading accounting firm in Hong Kong. You will run financial due-diligence and valuation workstreams end to end, supervising engagement teams and serving as the principal day-to-day client contact across the deal lifecycle. The mandate is set against one of the world's largest IPO venues and an active China and cross-border M&A market, with frequent listing-rules due diligence and capital-markets work. Specific qualifications, regulatory fluency and technical breadth are detailed in the sections that follow.

Confidential Client. Applying to this position means that you are interested to have an initial confidential discussion about how we can help you to identify and join a new accounting-firm practice. With your authorisation we will exclusively run the entire application and recruitment process for you, keeping you apprised at every step. With over 30 years' combined experience of helping the most talented accounting, audit, tax and advisory professionals to make safe, well-judged moves into rewarding new roles, we have the experience, network and ability to help you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead financial due-diligence workstreams end to end for buy-side, sell-side and lender engagements, from scoping through to report delivery.
  • Manage valuations and supporting analysis for transaction, listing and reporting purposes under HKFRS and IFRS.
  • Support IPO and capital-markets work, including listing-rules due diligence and financial information reviews for HKEX submissions.
  • Act as the principal day-to-day client contact, coordinating with sponsors, legal advisers and target management.
  • Supervise and develop teams of executives and assistant managers, reviewing analysis and assuring deliverable quality.
  • Analyse quality of earnings, normalised working capital and net debt, translating findings into value and risk implications.
  • Address China and cross-border deal considerations, reconciling reporting and disclosure differences across jurisdictions.
  • Contribute to proposals and scoping, supporting partners and directors in winning new mandates.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • A recognised professional accountancy qualification (HKICPA, ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent) in good standing.
  • Substantial post-qualification experience in transaction services, financial due diligence or a closely related corporate finance discipline.
  • Demonstrated track record of running due-diligence engagements from scoping to report delivery.
  • Familiarity with HKEX listing rules and SFC requirements as they apply to capital-markets and IPO work.
  • Fluency in HKFRS and IFRS, with the ability to identify and quantify reporting differences.
  • Excellent financial-modelling and analytical skills, including quality-of-earnings and working-capital analysis.
  • Proven ability to manage, review and develop engagement teams under deal timelines.
  • Strong valuation skills across discounted cash flow, market-multiple and net-asset approaches.
  • Confident written and verbal communication in English; Cantonese and Mandarin are advantageous.
  • The right to work in Hong Kong or eligibility to obtain the relevant employment visa.

Preferred Experience:

  • Exposure to IPO sponsor or listing-advisory engagements on HKEX.
  • Experience with China and cross-border M&A and inbound and outbound deal flow.
  • Prior work supporting private equity buyers and institutional investors in the region.
  • Sector-specialist due diligence in areas such as technology, consumer or financial services.
  • Experience contributing to business development and proposals within an advisory practice.
  • A network within the Hong Kong and Greater China corporate finance community.

Compensation:

Competitive package commensurate with seniority and experience, including base, performance-based bonus, long-term incentives and (where applicable) partner-track participation.

Next Steps:

This opportunity is open to Hong Kong permanent residents and candidates eligible to obtain the relevant Hong Kong employment visa who match the above criteria. Please apply to receive prompt contact from an experienced and specialist accounting-firm recruitment consultant.
