M&A Advisory Partner - Singapore
Job Description:
CharteredPartners is seeking an experienced mergers and acquisitions advisory professional to join our client in Singapore at Partner level. The successful candidate will lead origination and execution of sell-side and buy-side mandates across ASEAN, owning the client relationship from first approach through to completion and carrying a personal fee budget. Key Responsibilities:
- Originate sell-side and buy-side M&A mandates across ASEAN, converting a personal network of corporates, private equity sponsors and family offices into engaged deals.
- Lead end-to-end execution, including valuation, information memorandum preparation, buyer outreach, management presentations and negotiation through to signing and completion.
- Own commercial terms on engagements, setting fee structures and retainers and carrying accountability for a personal revenue target.
- Direct deal teams of directors, managers and analysts, reviewing financial models and marketing materials for technical accuracy and quality.
- Advise vendors and acquirers on deal structuring, SPA mechanics, completion accounts and earn-out arrangements alongside legal and tax counsel.
- Build and protect relationships with the SGX, MAS-regulated buyers, the regional PE community and corporate development teams to sustain repeat mandate flow.
- Contribute to practice strategy, brand positioning and the development of junior bankers within the corporate finance team.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- CA (Singapore), ACA, ACCA, CPA or CFA, with a recognised degree in finance, accounting, economics or a related discipline.
- Twelve or more years in M&A advisory, investment banking or corporate finance, including a sustained record at Director or Partner level.
- Demonstrable origination track record, with verifiable mandates won and closed across the ASEAN region.
- Fluency in the SGX listing and takeover environment, including reverse takeovers, and the MAS regulatory perimeter relevant to corporate finance advice.
- Authoritative command of valuation under IVS, DCF, trading and transaction comparables and LBO frameworks.
- Deep understanding of SPA mechanics, net debt and working capital adjustments and completion accounts.
- Established relationships across the regional private equity and family-office buyer universe.
- Strong commercial judgement, with the credibility to advise boards and controlling shareholders.
- Excellent written and spoken English, with the gravitas to lead negotiations and win new business.
- Evidence of leading and developing high-performing advisory teams.
Preferred Experience:
- Cross-border experience spanning Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand and the Philippines.
- Sector specialisation in areas such as technology, consumer, industrials, healthcare or financial services.
- A portable book of business and an active pipeline of near-term opportunities.
- Prior experience within a recognised global or strong regional accounting-firm deals practice.
- Exposure to public-market transactions and SGX takeover-code situations.
- Working proficiency in Mandarin or Bahasa Indonesia for regional counterparties.
Compensation:
Competitive package commensurate with seniority and experience, including base, performance-based bonus, long-term incentives and (where applicable) partner-track participation.
