 Job Description:

CharteredPartners is seeking a Transaction Services Senior Manager to join the corporate finance & advisory practice of a leading accounting firm in London. You will run financial due-diligence and valuation workstreams end to end, supervising engagement teams and serving as the principal day-to-day client contact across the deal lifecycle. The mandate is set against one of the world's deepest private equity and debt-advisory markets, with a broad flow of mid-market and larger transaction-services engagements. Specific qualifications, regulatory fluency and technical breadth are detailed in the sections that follow.

Confidential Client. Applying to this position means that you are interested to have an initial confidential discussion about how we can help you to identify and join a new accounting-firm practice. With your authorisation we will exclusively run the entire application and recruitment process for you, keeping you apprised at every step. With over 30 years' combined experience of helping the most talented accounting, audit, tax and advisory professionals to make safe, well-judged moves into rewarding new roles, we have the experience, network and ability to help you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead financial due-diligence workstreams end to end for private equity, corporate and lender clients, from scoping through to report delivery.
  • Manage business valuations under FRS 102 and IFRS, including discounted cash flow, market-multiple and net-asset approaches.
  • Act as the principal day-to-day client contact, coordinating with sponsors, legal advisers and target management.
  • Supervise and develop teams of executives and assistant managers, reviewing analysis and assuring deliverable quality.
  • Analyse quality of earnings, normalised working capital and net debt, translating findings into value and risk implications.
  • Support buy-side and sell-side processes, including vendor due diligence and lender reporting.
  • Address takeover-code and disclosure considerations where transactions involve listed entities.
  • Contribute to proposals and scoping, supporting partners and directors in winning new mandates.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • A recognised professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CA or equivalent) in good standing.
  • Substantial post-qualification experience in transaction services, financial due diligence or a closely related corporate finance discipline.
  • Demonstrated track record of running buy-side and sell-side due-diligence engagements from scoping to report delivery.
  • Strong command of valuation methodologies and financial modelling.
  • Fluency in FRS 102 and IFRS, with the ability to identify and quantify reporting differences.
  • Excellent analytical skills, including quality-of-earnings and working-capital analysis.
  • Familiarity with the UK private equity and debt-advisory environment.
  • Awareness of FCA, LSE and AIM requirements as they apply to transactions.
  • Proven ability to manage, review and develop engagement teams under deal timelines.
  • The right to work in the United Kingdom or eligibility to obtain it.

Preferred Experience:

  • Exposure to UK private equity buy-side and sell-side due-diligence mandates.
  • Experience with vendor due diligence and lender reporting.
  • Prior work on debt-advisory or refinancing transactions.
  • Sector-specialist due diligence in areas such as technology, business services, consumer or healthcare.
  • Experience contributing to business development and proposals within an advisory practice.
  • A network within the UK corporate finance and private equity community.

Compensation:

Competitive package commensurate with seniority and experience, including base, performance-based bonus, long-term incentives and (where applicable) partner-track participation.

Next Steps:

This opportunity is open to candidates holding or eligible for the right to work in the United Kingdom who match the above criteria. Please apply to receive prompt contact from an experienced and specialist accounting-firm recruitment consultant.
