CharteredPartners is seeking an experienced accounting and financial reporting professional to join our client in Singapore at Director level. The successful candidate will lead a non-audit accounting and reporting advisory practice, advising finance teams on complex accounting, conversions and transaction reporting, and developing the service line and its referral relationships. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead accounting and reporting advisory engagements, advising finance functions on complex SFRS(I) recognition, measurement and disclosure matters.
- Direct GAAP conversion and first-time adoption projects, including transitions to SFRS(I) and IFRS-aligned reporting.
- Advise on the accounting consequences of transactions, including business combinations, group reorganisations and financial instruments.
- Support clients on new and amended standards, preparing technical position papers and accounting manuals.
- Provide accounting input to listing and fundraising processes, working alongside reporting accountants and audit teams while remaining independent of the audit.
- Build and lead the advisory team, setting technical standards and reviewing deliverables.
- Grow the service line through proposals, thought leadership and referral relationships.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Chartered Accountant of Singapore, CA (Singapore), or holder of an equivalent recognised qualification such as ACCA or ICAEW.
- Substantial post-qualification experience in financial reporting, technical accounting or accounting advisory.
- Deep working knowledge of SFRS(I) and the underlying IFRS framework, including recent and forthcoming standards.
- Demonstrable experience leading GAAP conversions or first-time adoption projects.
- Strong understanding of the accounting for business combinations, consolidations and financial instruments.
- Ability to translate technical conclusions into clear, defensible written advice for finance teams and audit committees.
- Awareness of SGX reporting obligations and the interaction between accounting advice and statutory audit independence.
- Experience leading and developing technical or advisory teams.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- A record of developing client relationships and winning advisory work.
Preferred Experience:
- Prior experience in a national technical or accounting advisory function within a mid-tier or larger firm.
- Exposure to cross-border group reporting and multi-GAAP environments.
- Sector depth in real estate, financial services, technology or industrials.
- Familiarity with IRAS interactions where accounting and tax outcomes intersect.
- Experience supporting transactions and capital markets processes from an accounting advisory standpoint.
- An established referral network among lawyers, bankers and corporate advisers in Singapore.
Compensation:
Competitive package commensurate with seniority and experience, including base, performance-based bonus, long-term incentives and (where applicable) partner-track participation.
