CharteredPartners is seeking a Tax Senior Manager to join a leading accounting firm in London. The successful candidate will manage corporate tax compliance and advisory engagements end to end, acting as the principal day-to-day contact for a varied client base and supervising the work of the wider team. This is a hands-on delivery and supervision role spanning UK corporation tax compliance, advisory delivery and HMRC engagement across an active international tax agenda. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage corporate tax compliance engagements end to end, overseeing computations, returns and HMRC filings to deadline.
- Deliver practical advisory work spanning group structuring, R&D relief and cross-border transactions.
- Apply the 25% corporation tax regime and VAT at 20% accurately across the portfolio.
- Support transfer pricing and diverted profits documentation and analysis.
- Act as the principal day-to-day client contact, managing timelines, queries and expectations.
- Supervise, review and develop managers and junior staff, providing technical coaching and quality control.
- Assist with the assessment of Pillar Two multinational top-up tax obligations under director and partner direction.
- Support engagement economics through budgeting, billing and work-in-progress management.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- A recognised professional qualification, with ICAEW membership, Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) status and / or ATT preferred.
- Solid post-qualification experience in UK corporate tax within a public accounting firm or comparable environment.
- Strong working knowledge of UK corporation tax at 25% and VAT at 20%.
- Experience managing corporate tax compliance cycles and HMRC correspondence.
- Practical familiarity with R&D relief, capital allowances and group relief.
- Working knowledge of transfer pricing and diverted profits documentation requirements.
- A developing command of Pillar Two multinational top-up tax and its UK application.
- Proven ability to manage multiple engagements concurrently while maintaining technical quality.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with client stakeholders.
- Experience supervising and reviewing the work of junior team members.
Preferred Experience:
- Exposure to clients across financial services, technology, real estate or industrial sectors.
- Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions or group restructures.
- Familiarity with IR35 and employment-tax interactions.
- Involvement in transfer pricing documentation projects.
- A track record of contributing to proposals and practice development.
- Experience coaching and mentoring within a structured review framework.
Compensation:
Competitive package commensurate with seniority and experience, including base, performance-based bonus, long-term incentives and (where applicable) partner-track participation.
