Private Client Tax Partner - Dubai

 Job Description:

CharteredPartners is seeking an experienced private client tax professional to join our client in Dubai at Partner level. The successful candidate will lead private-client and family-office advisory delivery, own client origination and practice growth, and act as a senior technical authority on wealth structuring, the UAE Corporate Tax regime and cross-border estate planning. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead private-client and family-office advisory engagements, including wealth structuring, succession planning and the establishment of holding and investment vehicles.
  • Advise high-net-worth individuals and family groups on the UAE Corporate Tax regime at 9%, effective from 2023 and 2024, including its application to personal investment and business income.
  • Advise on free-zone structuring and Qualifying Free Zone Person (QFZP) status, and on the use of ADGM and DIFC structures and foundations.
  • Advise on residency planning and the cross-border tax position of internationally mobile families, including treaty and home-country interactions.
  • Oversee VAT considerations at 5% and transfer-pricing positions, on an OECD-aligned basis, where private structures hold operating businesses.
  • Originate new relationships and grow a private-client fee base, working with bankers, trustees and legal advisers.
  • Provide partner-level review and risk management, and develop the technical capability of the team.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Member of the ICAEW or ACCA, or an equivalent recognised accountancy or tax qualification.
  • At least twelve years of tax experience, with substantial private-client, family-office or wealth-structuring exposure.
  • Working knowledge of the UAE Corporate Tax regime, including free-zone and QFZP rules.
  • Familiarity with the UAE VAT regime at 5% and with Federal Tax Authority registration and compliance obligations.
  • Demonstrable command of cross-border wealth and succession structuring.
  • Understanding of ADGM and DIFC structures, foundations and the associated regulatory environment.
  • A proven record of client origination and the ability to build and retain a private-client base.
  • Strong advisory-writing skills and the ability to issue defensible structuring advice.
  • Excellent relationship-management skills with families, principals and intermediaries.
  • Right to work in the United Arab Emirates, or eligibility to obtain the appropriate residence visa.

Preferred Experience:

  • Prior partner, director or principal experience in a professional services firm or private-client practice.
  • Exposure to international clients relocating to the UAE and to inbound residency planning.
  • Familiarity with OECD-aligned transfer pricing as it applies to family-owned operating groups.
  • Experience advising on trusts, foundations and multi-jurisdictional holding structures.
  • A visible market profile through publications, panels or professional-body involvement.
  • An established network among private banks, trustees and law firms in the region.

Compensation:

Competitive package commensurate with seniority and experience, including base, performance-based bonus, long-term incentives and (where applicable) partner-track participation.
