About the job Equipment Engineer

The role requires the incumbent to coordinate closely with equipment suppliers to align specifications, conduct evaluations, and perform acceptance tests to ensure seamless integration into the companys technology roadmap. The engineer will also lead efforts in developing cost-effective, in-house equipment solutions, maintaining a strong focus on safety and efficiency throughout the process flow.

Responsibilities

  • Equipment Specification and Evaluation: Align equipment specifications with stakeholders, manage deviations, and evaluate suppliers' development roadmaps for alignment with the company's technology needs.
  • Testing and Commissioning: Conduct factory and onsite acceptance tests, producing detailed test protocols and working with vendors during installation and commissioning to adhere to project timelines.
  • In-House Equipment Development: Contribute to the development of new, cost-effective equipment that enhances control over future technological advancements.
  • Workflow Optimization: Analyze equipment workflow to ensure compatibility with the companys process flows and operational requirements.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to the companys safety protocols, identify potential equipment-related safety risks, and engage in safety improvement initiatives.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate and present information across all organizational levels.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on new developments in equipment technology and foster working relationships within the equipment sector.

Requirements

  • Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronic Engineering.
  • Experience: At least two years of experience in the Solar industry or a related field, with a preference for candidates who have direct experience with solar equipment.
  • Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, and statistical software tools like JMP, AutoCAD, SolidWorks is an added advantage.
  • Attributes: Excellent teamwork, communication, and presentation skills; attention to detail; ability to work independently and manage extended hours; proactive attitude towards tackling new challenges; readiness for overseas travel for extended periods.
  • Special Requirements: A genuine interest in addressing new challenges in a dynamic market environment, with a preference for candidates with specific experience in solar equipment development.
