The role requires the incumbent to ensure the highest standards of product quality, encompassing development, implementation, and enhancement of quality plans. This critical position involves direct customer and supplier engagement, quality engineering documentation, system audits, and leading quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Quality Plan Development: Formulate and refine product quality plans to meet and exceed industry standards.
  • Documentation and Audits: Prepare comprehensive quality engineering documentation and conduct systematic quality system audits.
  • Customer Support: Offer diagnostic support to customers, aiding in problem prevention, containment, and resolution.
  • Quality Improvement Participation: Lead or participate in Quality Improvement Processes (QIP) and Engineering Improvement Teams (EIT), supervising workgroups to foster continuous improvement.
  • Corrective Action Plans: Develop and implement effective corrective action plans for customer issues, ensuring robust problem resolution and prevention strategies.
  • System Improvements: Communicate and implement new systems or improvements, securing team buy-in for successful execution.
  • Supplier and Customer Interface: Act as the primary point of contact with customers and suppliers on product quality issues, utilizing methodologies like the 8D process to address and resolve concerns.
  • Special Projects: Undertake special projects aimed at enhancing product quality and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Engineering or Science.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in an engineering role, with a preference for candidates with manufacturing experience.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in PC applications, advanced SPC techniques, and analytical problem-solving. Familiarity with basic print reading and specification interpretation.
  • Communication: Strong oral and written communication abilities, with expertise in effectively organizing, planning, and facilitating conflict resolution independently.
  • Leadership: Capability to function independently with minimal supervision, providing technical guidance and leadership to teams.
  • Presentation Skills: Proficient in presenting complex information clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.
