The role requires the incumbent to manage and execute both preventive and corrective maintenance for electrical systems, focusing on safety and efficiency. The position also involves extensive troubleshooting and maintenance planning within a high-stakes industrial environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintenance Execution: Implement and execute both preventive and breakdown maintenance for electrical and instrumentation tasks, prioritizing safety and system reliability.
  • Troubleshooting: Conduct detailed troubleshooting for electrical systems and instrumentation, including AC low voltage single phase and 3-phase systems.
  • Spare Management: Maintain an optimal level of electrical spares and drives, take drive parameters backup, and ensure availability to minimize plant downtime.
  • Documentation: Manage systematic documentation related to maintenance procedures, risk assessments, Single Line Diagrams (SLD), and E&I maintenance records.
  • High Voltage Management: Liaise with Professional Engineers (PE) to organize preventive maintenance for medium voltage (MV) and high voltage systems (up to 22kVA).
  • Schematic Development: Develop and understand electrical panel schematics as required for system improvements or repairs.
  • Technician Guidance: Provide guidance to technicians on troubleshooting ACMV, CCTV, access control systems, PA systems, power, and lighting.
  • Material Management: Oversee material management including ordering and storing consumables, parts, and spare units.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to breakdowns promptly, diagnose faults, and maintain accurate records and reports of service, repair, and overhaul activities.
  • 5S Management: Manage routine 5S procedures at the maintenance workshop, store, and site work areas to maintain orderliness and safety.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate with clients, consultants, project personnel, and relevant authorities to ensure alignment and compliance.

Job Requirements

  • Education: Degree in Electrical Engineering or Instrumentation/Maintenance Engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in electrical engineering, preferably in the chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, or power plant sectors.
  • Certifications: Possession of a Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW) certification is an advantage.
  • Knowledge: Strong foundational knowledge in electrical systems, preventative maintenance systems, and maintenance and asset management.
  • Skills: Results-driven with robust technical and problem-solving skills; able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with various stakeholders.
