About the Opportunity

A leading multi-specialty and emergency veterinary hospital in the Miami area is seeking a Specialty Medical Director to lead and support a collaborative team of specialists and emergency clinicians.

This role is ideal for a board-certified veterinary specialist who is interested in combining clinical practice with leadership responsibilities. The Medical Director will play a key role in guiding medical standards, mentoring veterinary teams, and helping shape the hospitals continued growth and development.

This busy specialty and emergency hospital serves a large referral network throughout the region and provides advanced veterinary care across multiple disciplines.

Specialty services include:

• Internal Medicine

• Surgery

• Critical Care

• Oncology

• Cardiology

• Dermatology

The hospital manages a high caseload of emergency and referral cases and is equipped with advanced diagnostic and treatment capabilities, including:

• CT imaging

• Fluoroscopy

• Digital radiography

• Diagnostic ultrasound

• Mechanical ventilation systems

• Advanced endoscopy and diagnostic procedures such as cystoscopy, bronchoscopy, and rhinoscopy

The hospital maintains a collaborative environment where specialists, emergency clinicians, and referring veterinarians work closely together to provide comprehensive patient care.

The Role

The Medical Director will:

• Provide clinical leadership and oversight for the hospital

• Mentor specialists, emergency veterinarians, and clinical staff

• Support the hospitals long-term clinical development and standards of care

Experience & Skills Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM / VMD) or equivalent degree

• Board-Certified Veterinary Specialist

• Eligible for or currently holding a Florida veterinary license in good standing prior to start date

• DEA license or eligibility to obtain one
