Controls Technician – Night Shift (2‑2‑3 Schedule)

Location: Macon, GA (On-site)

Employment Type: Full-Time 

Compensation: $30–$35 per hour + $1.50/hr shift differential

Schedule: 2‑2‑3 Night Shift

Position Overview

The Controls Technician will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing electrical, automation, and control components used in high‑speed production environments. This includes PLCs, HMIs, drives, sensors, servo systems, and related industrial electrical equipment. The ideal candidate is a detail‑oriented problem solver with strong technical aptitude and a commitment to operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and calibrate electrical sensors including photoelectric, inductive, capacitive, magnetic, pressure, temperature, weight, and position sensors
  • Diagnose, repair, and commission electrical control devices such as AC/DC drives, servo controllers, motors, breakers, solenoids, power supplies, and contactors
  • Troubleshoot and commission PLC/HMI hardware including processors, discrete/analog I/O, power supplies, network adapters, distributed I/O, PanelView interfaces, and FactoryTalk View systems
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Maintenance teams to improve equipment uptime and reliability
  • Support automation upgrades, process improvements, and root‑cause analysis initiatives
  • Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with company and industry standards
Qualifications

Preferred Experience & Background

  • High School Diploma required; Associate Degree in Electronics, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred
  • 1–3 years of industrial or manufacturing experience
  • Demonstrated PLC troubleshooting experience
  • Strong industrial electrical knowledge and ability to read electrical schematics
  • Experience working in high‑speed production environments is a plus
  • Must be able and willing to work the 2‑2‑3 night shift (non‑negotiable requirement)
Candidates may currently hold titles such as: 
Controls Technician
PLC Technician 
Industrial Electrician 
Automation Technician 
I&E Technician,
Maintenance Electrician with strong controls experience.
