Production Technician

Location: McElhattan, PA 

Pay: $18.00 per hour 

Shift: 12‑hour overnight | 6:45 PM – 7:00 AM | 2‑2‑3 schedule

Role Overview

The Production Technician is responsible for safely and efficiently operating packaging equipment, inspecting finished products, and supporting production line activities. This role includes preparing materials, maintaining housekeeping standards, and assisting teammates during scheduled breaks to ensure smooth and continuous operation.

Principal Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Safety compliance — Follow all safety rules and use proper PPE at all times.
  • Regulatory adherence — Comply with GMP, FDA, and ISO guidelines.
  • Equipment operation — Sequentially start up and operate designated packaging equipment using proper procedures.
  • Quality checks — Inspect finished products according to QA guidelines and maintain required quality standards.
  • Problem identification — Recognize quality issues and immediately notify the Technician II or Line Leader.
  • Raw material staging — Ensure proper raw materials are available and positioned for production.
  • Inventory control — Accurately record lot codes using RFU devices for inventory tracking.
  • Software use — Use Windows‑based software to maintain product history and production information.
  • Housekeeping — Keep machines and surrounding areas clean and orderly.
  • Team support — Assist teammates as needed and provide break coverage.
  • Documentation — Complete all required paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Other duties — Perform additional tasks as directed.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Completion of all required training and assessments
  • Ability to operate two or more machine technologies
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team‑oriented environment
  • High School diploma or equivalent (Required)
  • Prior computer experience (Preferred)

Work Environment

  • Potential exposure to dust during certain tasks
  • Requires working in a high‑volume production setting with continuous movement

Physical Requirements

  • Walk/stand for 100% of a 12‑hour shift
  • Constant bending, climbing, reaching, kneeling, pushing, and pulling
  • Frequent climbing into machines to clear jams
  • Occasional overhead reaching
  • Push/pull materials requiring up to 100 lbs of force
  • Lift/carry boxes up to 50 lbs
  • Constant use of hands; occasional use of foot controls
  • Operation of forklifts, hand trucks, roll manipulators, baler, and compactor
  • Daily sweeping and organizing of work area
  • Required participation in a daily pre‑shift warm‑up routine
