Steel Worker / Utility / Fabricator

Location: Camp Hill, PA

Role Overview

The Steel Worker / Utility / Fabricator is a key contributor to daily production operations. This role supports steel fabrication, material handling, and general utility functions to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality output. The ideal candidate is a reliable, safety‑driven teammate who can work independently or collaboratively in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Mobile equipment operation — Assist with and/or operate forklifts, loaders, and other mobile equipment as assigned.
  • Material handling — Perform shipping, receiving, staging, and order fulfillment tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • MIG welding — Execute MIG welding on steel components in accordance with quality and safety standards.
  • Fabrication equipment operation — Operate horizontal saws and other fabrication tools to cut, prepare, and process steel materials.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment through consistent housekeeping practices.
  • Follow all Nucor Skyline safety policies, procedures, and best practices; proactively identify and address hazards.

Work Environment & Expectations

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Steel Worker / Utility teammate must be able to:

  • Work effectively both independently and within a team.
  • Adapt to changing production needs and priorities.
  • Work off‑shifts (2nd or 3rd), including weekends and holidays as required by operating conditions.
  • Demonstrate strong situational awareness and a commitment to safety in every task.

Safety is the foundation of every role. Candidates must show the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools and mechanical aptitude

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in steel fabrication, welding, or industrial manufacturing
  • Experience operating forklifts or other mobile equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret basic fabrication drawings
  • Strong problem‑solving and communication skills
