Job Summary:

The Kitchen Equipment Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial kitchen equipment to ensure smooth and safe operations. The role requires technical expertise in handling specialized kitchen machinery and utilities used in food service environments.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform regular preventive maintennace, troubleshooting, and repair on critical kitchen equipmnet including:

  • Oven

  • Dough Roller

  • Dough Mixer

  • Proofer

  • Pressure Fryer

  • Open Fryer (Collectramatic & Frymaster)

  • Ice Machine

  • Water Heater (storage tank)

  • Cold/Freezer Room

  • Incoming Supply

  • Air Conditioning

  • Plumbing

2. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues related to kitchen equipment and utilities.

3. Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime in operations.
4. Maintain accurate service records, checklists, and reporting of all maintenance activities.
5. Ensure all repairs and maintenance comply with health, safety, and food hygiene standards.
6. Collaborate with managers and operations teams to schedule maintenance with minimal disruption.
7. Monitor inventory and request spare parts/tools needed for timely equipment servicing.
8. Support installation and commissioning of new kitchen equipment.
9. Provide training and basic troubleshooting guidance to staff when required.

Qualifications:

1. Diploma/Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, Refrigeration, or related technical field.
2. Proven experience in maintenance and repair of commercial kitchen equipment.
3. Strong knowledge of refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
4. Ability to read technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
5. Good troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
6. Physically fit and able to work in hot/cold kitchen environments.
7. Willing to work on standby, weekends, and public holidays if required.
8. Possess own transport and valid driving license (preferred).
