SFL opened its office in Afghanistan in the year of 1998, funded by multiple donors such as BPRM, USG, USDA and WFP. SFL has a rich experience and provides assistance to the following areas; Agriculture Development, Food Security, livelihood and emergency, shelter and population settlement, microcredit, infrastructure development, health and nutrition.
Job Summary: A skilled tailoring trainer responsible for developing comprehensive training materials, conducting practical and visual demonstrations, and delivering hands-on sewing and garment-making instruction. The role includes teaching fabric handling, pattern making, repairs, and custom designs, while ensuring safe working practices. The trainer provides personalized support, assesses skills through practical tasks, offers constructive feedback, and maintains attendance records. Emphasizing health and safety, the trainer adapts methods to meet individual needs and supports beneficiaries ongoing skill development.
Key Responsibility: Create step-by-step training materials for basic and advanced tailoring techniques.
Develop visual guides and practical demonstrations to enhance understanding.
Conduct hands-on training sessions on sewing, cutting, stitching, and garment finishing.
Teach fabric handling, pattern making, and proper use of sewing machines.
Teach various tailoring skills such as basic repairs, alterations, and custom designs.
Provide one-on-one support to beneficiaries to help them improve their craftsmanship.
Ensure beneficiaries understand the safe use of sewing machines and tools.
Emphasize health and safety in the workplace, including ergonomics and proper material
handling.
Assess learners skills through practical assignments and projects.
Offer constructive feedback to help beneficiaries refine their techniques.
Keep the track record of attendance sheets
Offer continued guidance and troubleshooting for beneficiaries after training.
Address individual challenges and adapt training methods as needed.
Qualification/Requirements: Experience with dishwashing products or chemical safety.
Basic Education
Prior training experience (preferred) but not mandatory for those passionate about teaching.
Strong communication and presentation abilities.
Ability to simplify instructions and make training accessible.
Patience and a positive attitude toward beneficiaries learning.
Ability to motivate and support diverse learners.
Detail-oriented with a strong focus on hygiene and safety.
