SFL opened its office in Afghanistan in the year of 1998, funded by multiple donors such as BPRM, USG, USDA and WFP. SFL has a rich experience and provides assistance to the following areas; Agriculture Development, Food Security, livelihood and emergency, shelter and population settlement, microcredit, infrastructure development, health and nutrition.

Job Summary: The Solar Electric Repair Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining solar energy systems to ensure optimal performance and safety. This role involves installing new solar systems, replacing damaged components, and conducting inspections of panels, batteries, charge controllers, inverters, and wiring. The technician provides both theoretical and practical training to beneficiaries on the operation and maintenance of solar systems, while adhering to safety procedures and technical standards. Additionally, the technician maintains tools and equipment, offers suggestions for service improvements, and ensures compliance with organizational policies. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering high-quality service in the renewable energy sector.

Key Responsibility: Teaching both theoretical and practical lessons to beneficiaries of the project

Repairing and replacing damaged components in solar systems

Installing and adjusting new solar systems in accordance with technical standards

Training users on the proper operation and maintenance of solar systems

Following safety procedures when working with electricity and electronic equipment

Inspecting technical issues in solar systems (including panels, batteries, charge controllers, inverters, and wiring)

Maintaining tools, equipment, and technical tools in good condition

Providing suggestions to improve service quality and ensure the effective use of resources

Observing working hours, administrative discipline, and institutional regulations

Performing any other tasks assigned by the organizations management

Qualification/Requirements: A primary school graduate, with a preference for those who have completed 12th grade high school.

Minimum of two (2) years of work experience in the field of solar and electrical systems.

Good knowledge and familiarity with electrical and solar energy systems

Physical fitness and ability to work in different environments (urban and rural areas)

Honesty, punctuality, and strong teamwork spirit

High attention to detail, effective time management skills and strong work ethic.

Excellent spoken in Dari and Pashto languages.
