Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) Officer Local Authority
Location: Hybrid / South East
Rate: circa £40 - £45 per hour
Contract: 3 months+
Hours: Full-time or part-time considered
IR35: TBC

We are supporting a local authority in the South East who require an experienced DFG professional to provide short-term cover within their Private Sector Housing team.

Key Responsibilities

Manage DFG applications from initial enquiry through to completion
Liaise with Occupational Therapists, contractors and residents
Arrange and review schedules of work and contractor quotations
Conduct property visits to assess suitability and progress works
Ensure compliance with legislation, grant policy and council procedures
Support vulnerable residents with adaptations and access to financial assistance
Maintain accurate case records and documentation

Requirements

Proven experience delivering Disabled Facilities Grants / adaptations
Strong understanding of grants legislation, procurement and budgets
Ability to manage a caseload and work to timelines
Excellent communication and customer-focused approach
HHSRS knowledge beneficial but not essential
Local authority experience preferred
