About the job IBA Operator Electrical

1.1 Job Scope Summary

Under general supervision, the IBA Operator - Electrical biased,  performs a variety of tasks relating to the overall operation and maintenance of the Incinerated Bottom Ash (IBA) processing plant and the wider waste treatment facility, in accordance with established production schedules and plant throughput requirements.

1.2 Job Responsibilities

Physical Tasks

  • Performs general housekeeping, unblocking and cleaning of the facility
  • Works with and assists team members in performing a variety of tasks
  • Removes debris and materials wrapped around conveyor shafts
  • Lubricates and oils conveyors, feeder and screening equipment
  • Uses hand tools and power hand tools
  • Operates Fork Lift and Front Loader as required
  • Coordinates loading of IBA and residues

General Tasks

  • Operates the IBA processing plant
  • Undertakes plant preventative and corrective O&M activities
  • Tracks the tonnage processed, metals recovered and monitors the proportional split of ash
  • Follows all plant safety rules and procedures
  • Follows instructions given by supervisors
  • Reports promptly any breaches of HSE procedures to supervisor / management
  • Attend HSE Inspections, audits, assessments, daily and weekly meetings
  • Participates in and promotes company health, safety & environmental campaigns, initiatives, and ensures personal safety and that of colleagues at all times
  • Understand and complies on company policies and procedures

  • N/A

1.4 Job Experience

  • Must be physically able to perform manual labour
  • Familiar with HSE standards, procedures and requirements
  • Experience in performing physical tasks in both indoor and outdoor areas
  • Similar industry experience is a plus
