About the job Workshop Tradesman

1.1 Job Scope Summary

Under general supervision, the Workshop Tradesman performs a variety of workshop support tasks for the overall facility operation and in maintaining operation of the process plant and power generation plant in compliance with established production schedules and plant output requirements.

1.2 Job Responsibilities

Physical Tasks

  • Works with and assists team members with a variety of workshop support tasks
  • Milling activities
  • Lathing activities
  • Drilling activities
  • Welding activities
  • Fabrication activities
  • Assistance with insulation work
  • Perform manual repairs when necessary (doors, cabinets, etc.)
  • Use of hand tools and power hand tools as required

General Tasks

  • Follows all facility safety rules and procedures
  • Follows instructions given by supervision
  • Reports promptly any breaches of HSE procedures to supervisor / management
  • Attend HSE Inspections, audits, assessments, and daily/weekly meetings
  • Participates in and promotes company health, safety & environmental campaigns, initiatives, and ensures personal safety and that of colleagues at all times
  • Understand and complies on company policies and procedures
  • Communicate with team member and supervisor
  • Upkeep and Maintenance of Workshop Equipment

1.3 Educational/Professional Qualifications/Training Certifications

  • Highschool diploma or equivalent
  • Welding Certification
  • Milling, Lathing and Workshop Equipment Certification

1.4 Job Experience

  • Must be physically able to perform manual labour
  • Familiar with HSE standards, procedures and requirements
  • Experience in performing physical tasks both in an indoor and outdoor area
  • Atleast two years experience with Milling, Lathing, Drilling, Welding and use of Workshop equipment
  • Atleast two years experience with hand tools and power tools
  • Atleast two years experience with fabrication activities
  • Similar industry experience is a plus
