Siel Human Solutions, on behalf of our client is looking to hire a Full Time Community Development & Events Supervisor. 

Reporting to the Community Development & Recreation Director, the Community Development & Events Supervisor is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing community development initiatives and municipal events that enhance community engagement and promote our client.

This position provides direct supervision to seasonal summer staff and oversees volunteers during events and community programming. The Supervisor ensures events are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with company standards.

Key Responsibilities

Event & Community Development Leadership

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute community development events and initiatives.
  • Develop strategies to increase community awareness, participation, and engagement.
  • Support and actively participate in local development committee meetings.
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of marketing and promotional materials.
  • Coordinate pool safety and aquatic learning programs.
  • Conduct post-event evaluations and recommend improvements.

Supervision & Team Leadership

  • Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise summer students.
  • Provide on-site direction and oversight to volunteers during events.
  • Ensure staff and volunteers understand expectations, safety procedures, and event timelines.
  • Monitor performance and provide coaching and feedback.
  • Ensure compliance with municipal policies and safety standards.

Qualifications & Competencies

  • Minimum Grade 12 diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
  • Standard CPR/First Aid certification (asset).
  • Demonstrated supervisory or leadership experience (preferred).
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Independent judgment and problem-solving ability.
  • Reliable, flexible, and punctual.
