Compensation

₦200,000 – ₦250,000 Monthly 

Role Overview

The Quality Control & Store Operations Manager will play a critical leadership role in safeguarding operational integrity, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving excellence across retail pharmacy operations. This position requires a firm, detail-driven professional with a strong sense of accountability and the confidence to identify and address fraud, inefficiencies, and process gaps.

The successful candidate will oversee both quality assurance and end-to-end store operations, while also supporting the setup and standardization of a growing retail network.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance & Regulatory Compliance

  • Establish and enforce robust quality control frameworks in line with regulatory standards, including those set by NAFDAC and Pharmacists Council of Nigeria.
  • Conduct routine and surprise audits to identify non-compliance, stock discrepancies, and expired or compromised products.
  • Ensure proper storage, handling, and documentation of pharmaceutical products in accordance with safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead investigations into suspected fraud, theft, and operational irregularities, ensuring timely resolution and reporting.

Store Operations & Leadership

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the New Owerri retail outlet, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and high service standards.
  • Manage inventory control processes, including stock reconciliation, demand planning, and replenishment cycles.
  • Supervise and lead store personnel, driving accountability, discipline, and performance excellence.
  • Ensure optimal merchandising, pricing accuracy, and a seamless customer experience.

Audit, Risk & Control Management

  • Design and implement internal control systems to mitigate operational and financial risks.
  • Perform periodic stock audits and reconcile physical inventory with system records.
  • Develop and execute loss prevention strategies, with a focus on high-risk areas and transactions.
  • Provide detailed audit reports with actionable insights to executive management.

Expansion & Regional Oversight

  • Support the launch and operational structuring of new retail outlets.
  • Conduct periodic audits and compliance reviews across branches as required.
  • Ensure consistency in processes, reporting standards, and quality control across all locations.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Prepare and present weekly and monthly operational and audit reports.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of inspections, incidents, and compliance activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency, reducing waste, and optimizing costs.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy, Pharmacology, Biochemistry, or a related discipline.
    (Professional licensure is an added advantage.)
  • Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in pharmaceutical retail, quality control, or internal audit.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory and operational standards within Nigeria's pharmaceutical sector.
  • Demonstrated experience in fraud detection, compliance enforcement, and risk management.
  • Proven leadership capability with experience managing teams and retail operations.
  • High level of integrity, assertiveness, and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in inventory management systems and Microsoft Office tools.
