Job Summary
We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Procurement Officer to manage end-to-end procurement of pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, and consumables. The role ensures timely, cost-effective, and compliant purchasing aligned with GDP/GMP standards and healthcare regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Supplier & Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with reliable suppliers; assess vendor performance.
Sourcing, Negotiation & Contracting: Conduct market research, analyze quotations, negotiate pricing and contracts.
Procurement & Order Management: Process requisitions, raise POs, track deliveries, and resolve discrepancies.
Inventory & Stock Control: Monitor stock levels, support stock counts, manage expired or slow-moving items, and identify trending products.
Compliance & Documentation: Ensure adherence to GDP/GMP standards and maintain proper audit-ready records.
Quality Assurance Support: Verify quality and packaging standards for received items; collaborate with QA and pharmacists.
Budgeting & Reporting: Assist in procurement budgeting, track expenses, and provide periodic reports to management.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Cost Efficiency: Achieve 510% annual cost savings; 95% supplier price compliance.
Timeliness & Delivery: 98% on-time delivery; procurement cycle 35 business days.
Inventory Accuracy: 95100% stock accuracy; stockout rate <2%; expired stock <1%.
Supplier Performance: 100% GDP/GMP compliance; 90% supplier performance rating.
Documentation & Audit: 100% completeness of procurement documents; zero audit non-compliance.
Budget Adherence: Maintain spending within budget; provide timely and accurate procurement reports.
Qualifications & Requirements
B.Sc. / HND in Supply Chain Management, Pharmacy, Business Administration, or related field.
24 years experience in healthcare/pharmaceutical procurement.
Knowledge of GDP/GMP and pharmaceutical supply chain processes.
Proficient in MS Office and inventory management software.
Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work under pressure.
