Junior Accountant (Entry-Level)

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our finance team in Oshodi, Lagos. This is an entry-level position ideal for a fresh graduate or an early-career professional with 1 - 2 years of accounting or finance-related experience. The successful candidate will be trained and mentored to grow within our dynamic manufacturing environment, with a focus on financial operations, reporting, and compliance.

This role provides a strong foundation for a career in accounting and finance, with exposure to practical on-the-job learning, process improvement, and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Support & Documentation

  • Assist in the preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly financial records.

  • Support the maintenance of accurate financial documentation and filing systems.

  • Help with recording and reconciling financial transactions.

Accounts Support

  • Assist in handling accounts receivable and payable processes.

  • Support the preparation of invoices, payment schedules, and vendor reconciliations.

  • Monitor petty cash disbursements and ensure accurate entries.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Assist in preparing basic financial reports and summaries for management.

  • Support budget tracking and expense monitoring.

  • Compile data for analysis and reporting purposes.

Compliance & Record Keeping

  • Ensure compliance with basic financial regulations and internal controls.

  • Support external audit preparation and documentation.

  • Help with tax-related document filing (e.g., PAYE, VAT, WHT) under supervision.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelors degree (B.Sc. or HND) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a recognized institution.

  • 1 - 2 years of post-NYSC experience in a similar role (internship or NYSC year counts).

  • Basic knowledge of Nigerian accounting principles, bookkeeping, and financial documentation.

  • Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Tally, or Excel is a strong advantage.

  • Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Willingness to learn and grow under supervision in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work effectively within a team and take initiative.

  • Strong ethics and confidentiality in handling sensitive financial data.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
