Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Patient Services Coordinator (PSC) to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring a smooth and supportive inpatient experience from admission through to discharge. The successful candidate will serve as a vital link between patients, their families, and the clinical teams ensuring continuity of care, effective communication, and outstanding service quality.
Key Responsibilities

Admission Coordination: Manage and process all inpatient admissions, including documentation, consent, and billing.

Bed Management: Work with nursing teams to allocate beds and monitor availability for admissions or internal transfers.

Patient Orientation: Welcome new inpatients and provide guidance on hospital services, routines, and patient rights.

Care Navigation: Serve as the liaison between patients, families, and care teams to ensure seamless communication and care delivery.

Ward Round Support: Join clinical rounds as needed to raise service issues and capture patient feedback.

Family Liaison: Act as the point of contact for authorized family members regarding patient updates, visitation, and discharge plans.

Discharge Coordination: Facilitate timely discharge by collaborating with medical, billing, and transport departments.

Service Quality Monitoring: Track satisfaction levels, manage patient feedback, and escalate non-clinical needs (e.g., diet, mobility).

Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed records and submit daily service reports including discharges and patient concerns.

Compliance Support: Ensure adherence to safety, confidentiality, and professional standards of patient care.
Qualifications & Experience

B.Sc. or HND in Health Administration, Public Health, Social Sciences, or related field.

Minimum of 2-4 years experience in inpatient coordination, hospital front-office, or a related role.

Solid understanding of hospital admission, transfer, and discharge processes.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with strong attention to detail.

Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
Desirable Attributes

Experience in a specialist or tertiary hospital setting.

Familiarity with NHIS/HMO billing and discharge against medical advice (DAMA) procedures.

Knowledge of infection control and patient rights policies.
