Work Schedule: Monday – Saturday (9:00 AM – 6:00 PM) + Alternate Weekend Coverage
Experience Level: 3 Years Post-NYSC
Reports To: Administrative Manager
Salary: ₦500,000 Monthly

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and highly committed Medical Officer to join our clinic in Surulere, Lagos. The ideal candidate will not only provide high-quality clinical care but will also take ownership of the clinical operations of the facility.

This role requires a patient-focused professional with strong empathy, sound clinical judgment, and the ability to manage and coordinate the clinical aspects of the clinic effectively. The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a structured environment while maintaining excellent patient relationships and care standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patient consultations, examinations, and accurate diagnosis of medical conditions.
  • Prescribe medications and develop effective treatment plans in line with clinical guidelines.
  • Oversee and manage the clinical operations of the clinic to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Provide prompt medical care in outpatient and minor emergency cases.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatments where necessary.
  • Perform minor medical procedures as required.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records.
  • Ensure strict adherence to infection prevention, clinical protocols, and healthcare standards.
  • Work collaboratively with nurses and other healthcare staff to ensure coordinated and quality care.
  • Provide health education, preventive care guidance, and follow-up support to patients.
  • Demonstrate empathy, professionalism, and excellent bedside manner in all patient interactions.
  • Support administrative and operational processes within the clinic when required.
  • Participate in clinical audits, reviews, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS or equivalent).
  • Completion of NYSC.
  • Valid practicing license with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).

Experience & Skills

  • Minimum of 2 – 3 years post-NYSC clinical experience.
  • Proven experience managing or supporting clinical operations in a healthcare facility.
  • Strong clinical, diagnostic, and decision-making skills.
  • High level of empathy and patient-centered care approach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and lead clinical processes effectively.
  • Strong sense of responsibility, commitment, and professionalism.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Requirements

  • Gender: Female (preferred).
  • Must reside in or be willing to work in Surulere, Lagos.
  • Willingness to work alternate weekends as part of the schedule.
  • Highly committed, dependable, and proactive.
