Work Schedule: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM (One to Two Days Off Weekly)
Salary: 2,000,000 - 2,500,000 Monthly

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist (OB-GYN) with 710 years of post-specialization experience to join our reputable healthcare facility in Ogba, Lagos.
The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive healthcare to women, encompassing obstetrics (pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care) and gynecology (female reproductive health). This role involves delivering high-quality patient care, performing advanced surgical and diagnostic procedures, and supporting the continuous enhancement of clinical services.

Core Responsibilities:

Obstetric and Gynecological Care

  • Provide holistic prenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care to women throughout pregnancy, childbirth, and recovery.

  • Perform routine gynecological examinations, screenings (such as Pap smears and breast exams), and manage reproductive health conditions.

  • Conduct diagnostic assessments and implement appropriate treatment plans for a range of gynecological issues, including infertility, fibroids, infections, and hormonal disorders.

  • Manage and oversee labor and delivery, ensuring safe maternal and neonatal outcomes.

  • Perform obstetric and gynecologic surgical procedures such as cesarean sections, hysterectomies, myomectomies, laparoscopies, and related interventions.

Clinical and Procedural Duties

  • Conduct ultrasounds, biopsies, and other diagnostic procedures to evaluate patient conditions.

  • Prescribe and manage medications appropriately for various reproductive and obstetric conditions.

  • Ensure meticulous patient documentation, accurate case notes, and adherence to ethical medical standards.

  • Participate in emergency calls, on-call duties, and multidisciplinary case reviews.

Patient Education and Counseling

  • Provide counseling and education on reproductive health, contraception, family planning, fertility options, and preventive healthcare measures.

  • Offer compassionate emotional support to patients and their families, maintaining trust and confidentiality.

Collaboration and Leadership

  • Work closely with other medical specialists to develop and execute comprehensive treatment plans for complex cases.

  • Mentor and supervise junior doctors, nurses, and other medical staff to ensure continuous professional development.

  • Participate in departmental meetings, clinical audits, and hospital quality improvement programs.

Important Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: MBBS or equivalent degree from a recognized institution.

  • Specialization: Fellowship of the West African College of Surgeons (FWACS) or Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (FMCOG) in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

  • Licensure: Valid registration and practicing license with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).

  • Experience: Minimum of 7 - 10 years post-fellowship clinical experience in obstetrics and gynecology.

  • Medical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of womens reproductive health, prenatal/postnatal care, and gynecological surgery.

  • Diagnostic Skills: Ability to accurately diagnose and manage complex obstetric and gynecologic conditions.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication with strong interpersonal and counseling abilities.

  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical, decision-making, and crisis management capabilities.

  • Empathy and Resilience: Demonstrated compassion, emotional intelligence, and ability to perform under pressure.

  • Dexterity: Exceptional hand-eye coordination and surgical precision.

  • Administrative Skills: Strong organizational and documentation skills, with the ability to manage schedules and patient data effectively.
