Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Business Development Executive – Digital Focus to drive revenue growth, patient acquisition, and strategic partnerships for a specialized oncology and cancer care centre.
The successful candidate will develop and execute digital-led commercial strategies that increase awareness, generate qualified oncology leads, improve patient conversion, strengthen corporate and HMO relationships, and expand the centre's digital presence.
This role combines business development, digital marketing, healthcare partnerships, data analytics, and commercial strategy. The ideal candidate should have proven experience generating measurable business results through digital channels, with a strong understanding of Nigeria's healthcare ecosystem and, preferably, oncology or other specialty healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities
1. Digital Business Development & Growth Strategy
- Develop and execute digital-led business development strategies aligned with the centre's oncology and revenue objectives.
- Identify new revenue opportunities across digital healthcare and oncology services, including:
- Online patient enquiries and bookings
- Virtual/telemedicine consultations where applicable
- Online cancer screening programmes
- Digital referral and patient acquisition channels
- Health-tech partnerships
- Corporate wellness and cancer screening programmes
- Develop targeted digital campaigns for individuals, HMOs, corporate organizations, referral partners, and relevant patient segments.
- Identify emerging digital channels and opportunities for expanding the centre's patient and referral base.
- Translate digital engagement into measurable commercial outcomes.
2. Digital Patient Acquisition & Conversion
- Develop and optimize digital channels including the website, SEO, paid advertising, social media, email marketing, CRM, and other relevant platforms.
- Manage the digital patient acquisition journey from initial enquiry through consultation, diagnostics, and treatment initiation.
- Work with clinical, customer service, and operations teams to improve lead response and patient conversion.
- Monitor and improve key funnel metrics, including:
- Qualified oncology leads
- Cost per lead and patient acquisition
- Consultation booking rate
- Consultation-to-treatment conversion
- Patient acquisition by digital channel
- Identify and resolve gaps within the digital patient journey.
- Ensure digital communications are professional, empathetic, and appropriate for patients dealing with cancer-related conditions.
3. Digital Analytics, Revenue & Performance Reporting
- Track website traffic, lead generation, campaign performance, patient acquisition, conversion rates, and digital revenue contribution.
- Analyze campaign ROI and recommend improvements based on performance data.
- Develop regular dashboards and reports for management covering digital and commercial KPIs.
- Monitor service-line performance across areas such as cancer screening, diagnostics, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and other oncology services.
- Use available data to identify patient trends, demand patterns, high-performing channels, and new commercial opportunities.
- Provide actionable recommendations to management based on market and performance insights.
4. Corporate, HMO & Strategic Partnerships
- Identify and develop relationships with HMOs, corporate organizations, health-tech companies, referral networks, healthcare providers, and other strategic partners.
- Support the development of corporate cancer screening, employee wellness, and preventive oncology programmes.
- Develop digital referral partnerships that increase patient access to the centre's services.
- Support negotiations, proposals, presentations, and commercial agreements with prospective partners.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing business partners and identify opportunities for account growth.
- Explore opportunities with international patient/referral networks and healthcare facilitators where applicable.
5. Brand Positioning & Market Development
- Strengthen the centre's digital visibility and positioning within Nigeria's oncology and specialty healthcare market.
- Conduct competitor and market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and service gaps.
- Develop campaigns and commercial initiatives around relevant services, including:
- Cancer screening and early detection
- Oncology diagnostics
- Chemotherapy
- Radiotherapy
- Infusion services
- Specialist consultations
- Preventive oncology programmes
- Monitor patient and market feedback and translate insights into business development opportunities.
- Recommend new digital products, partnerships, campaigns, and service offerings that can support growth.
6. Compliance, Data Protection & Ethical Marketing
- Ensure all digital and business development activities comply with applicable Nigerian healthcare, advertising, and data protection requirements.
- Ensure marketing communications are accurate, responsible, and appropriate for oncology services.
- Maintain strict confidentiality when handling patient, prospect, partner, and business information.
- Work with relevant internal teams to ensure appropriate handling of patient data across digital platforms and CRM systems.
- Ensure marketing and promotional materials are reviewed and approved through the appropriate internal processes.
7. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with clinical, operations, IT, customer service, finance, and marketing teams to execute commercial initiatives.
- Collaborate with IT and relevant vendors on website, CRM, online booking, analytics, and other digital systems.
- Coordinate with clinical teams to ensure oncology-related content and campaigns are accurate and professionally presented.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on business development activities, pipeline, digital performance, and revenue opportunities.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Digital Marketing, Healthcare Management, Communications, or a related discipline.
- 5–7 years of progressive experience in business development, digital marketing, commercial growth, or healthcare marketing.
- Experience within healthcare, hospitals, diagnostics, oncology, pharmaceuticals, health-tech, or another highly regulated sector is strongly preferred.
- Proven track record of generating leads, acquiring customers/patients, developing partnerships, and contributing to revenue growth through digital channels.
- Strong working knowledge of SEO, Google Analytics/GA4, paid advertising, social media, CRM platforms, email marketing, and digital performance reporting.
- Experience developing and managing digital campaigns with measurable commercial outcomes.
- Strong understanding of Nigeria's HMO, corporate healthcare, referral, and healthcare partnership ecosystem.
- Experience with healthcare CRM, EMR, online booking, or digital health platforms is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment while maintaining high standards of professionalism and confidentiality.

Compensation
