Sigma Systems is currently looking for a Remote IT Business Operations Manager
40 hours per week
Responsibilities:
Vendor Management
- Manage IT vendor relationships, contracts, and service level agreements to ensure performance, value, and accountability.
- Conduct regular vendor performance reviews and vendor risk assessments, driving continuous improvement and accountability.
- Identify opportunities to reduce vendor sprawl and consultant dependency through standardization and strategic sourcing.
- Identify, assess, and manage IT operational and vendor‐related risks, escalating issues as appropriate.
- Track service performance, vendor effectiveness, and cost efficiency, highlighting trends and opportunities for improvement.
Budget & Planning
- Prepare and deliver regular financial and operational reporting for IT leadership to support informed decision‐making.
- Supports the annual IT budgeting and forecasting process in close partnership with Finance, ensuring alignment to strategic and operational priorities.
- Track and manage IT expenses, forecast variances, and continuously align technology investments to evolving business needs.
- Support the development of business cases for new IT initiatives, services, and investments, ensuring financial rigor and value realization.
- Develop and maintain IT operational metrics and dashboards related to budget performance, contractual compliance, and service delivery.
- Support IT staffing plans, onboarding, and professional development initiatives.
Requirements:
- 7+ Experience in IT operations, technology operations, or enterprise operations leadership
- Strong understanding of IT financial management, budgeting, and cost controls
- Experience managing vendors, contracts, and third-party services
- 2+ years of experience delivering business updates to leadership, including crafting concise executive summaries for senior stakeholders
- 2+ years of experience supporting large-scale enterprise initiatives
- Deep understanding of IT-Specific Contract Structure
- Proficient in tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization platforms; not expected to be a technical expert but comfortable working within a business intelligence ecosystem.
- Competency in vetting vendors for cybersecurity and regulatory compliance
- Strong business acumen with the ability to partner effectively with Finance, Legal, and Procurement
- Excellent communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in a regulated environment
- Proven ability to build structure, improve processes, and drive accountability
- Strong understanding of how data and analytics support business operations, particularly within underwriting domains.
- Solid understanding of financial services product offerings, distribution channels, and the competitive landscape, with the ability to translate external trends into internal strategy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust, influence without authority, and communicate complex concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Excellent documentation skills with the ability to clearly capture and communicate business needs, statuses, and outcomes to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Adept at identifying themes, synthesizing information, and drawing meaningful insights from conversations and data.
