Position Overview: Patient Financial Representative Senior
Sigma, Inc. is currently recruiting a Patient Financial Representative Senior for a leading healthcare client in Irving, TX. This 3-month contract position offers the opportunity to work onsite in a cooperative team environment supporting the Revenue Cycle division. The role focuses on account resolution, reconciliation, and ensuring timely processing of patient accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Revenue Cycle Support:
- Perform Revenue Cycle functions to meet or exceed client performance metrics.
- Collect and provide patient and payer information to facilitate account resolution.
- Respond to account inquiries via written, verbal, or electronic communication.
- Maintain working knowledge of all Revenue Cycle functions.
- Billing and Claims Management:
- Exhibit knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding regulations.
- Review and work on claim edits and payor-rejected claims for resubmission.
- Utilize electronic claims editing and submission systems.
- Identify and resolve underpayments, credit balances, and denial trends.
- Collections and Account Reconciliation:
- Collect balances due from payors, ensuring proper reimbursement for services.
- Maintain active knowledge of all payor collection requirements.
- Work daily collector queues and generate reports as needed.
- Cash Reconciliation:
- Ensure accurate and timely posting of all payments through patient accounting systems and bank statements.
- Resolve unapplied cash and discrepancies, performing follow-ups until resolution.
- Review and post cash corrections, addressing patient complaints and inquiries.
- Collaboration and Compliance:
- Communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with client, payer, and government regulations.
- Provide updates to the PFS Leadership Team regarding trends, errors, and productivity.
Qualifications
- Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Post-secondary education preferred.
- Experience:
- 3–5 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle, billing, or collections preferred.
- Experience in multi-facility hospital business offices preferred.
- Knowledge of inpatient and outpatient billing requirements (UB-04 and HCFA 1500) is a plus.
- Licenses/Certifications:
- None required.
- Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of billing, claims processing, and cash reconciliation.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
