Position Overview:
The Warehouse Training Specialist will be instrumental in launching and growing our Warehouse Training Department. In this role you will design, implement and audit training programs, develop standard operating procedures (SOPs), and ensure strong inventory control and transaction accuracy in our automotive manufacturing environment. Ideal candidates have prior supervisory experience in a warehouse setting, a strong technical background, and a proven track-record in training, auditing and process compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain warehouse training curriculum for Level 1/Level 2 specialists, including modules on inventory control, transaction accuracy, equipment operation, and safety.
  • Write, review and update training SOPs, work instructions and audit checklists aligned with automotive manufacturing standards.
  • Conduct training sessions, hands-on demonstrations and refresher courses for warehouse staff.
  • Audit and evaluate warehouse operations, inventory transactions, material handling, pick/pack/ship processes, and report findings with corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with warehouse operations, quality, safety and supply chain teams to identify training needs and implement solutions.
  • Track training metrics, maintain records of training completions, audits and performance improvements.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for inventory control transactions, including goods receipt, put-away, pick, pack, ship, cycle count and discrepancy resolution.
  • Provide support and guidance to warehouse supervisors and front-line teams on best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of supervisory experience in a warehouse environmentpreferably within the automotive manufacturing sector.
  • Strong technical background in warehouse operations, inventory control, material handling, equipment operation and process auditing.
  • Demonstrated experience developing training materials, SOPs, auditing processes and delivering training in a production or warehouse setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to translate technical processes into effective training content.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and learning management/tracking tools.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate across operations, supply chain and safety departments.
  • Attention to detail, strong analytical mindset, and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelors degree in a related field preferred (or equivalent combination of training/experience).
  • Experience in a multi-shift, unionized warehouse or manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Prior experience in lean manufacturing, continuous improvement or Six Sigma methodologies is preferred.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and material handling automation is preferred.
