Job Accountabilities:

Define and implement the overall cloud operations strategy, aligning with business objectives.

Develop and implement strategies for cloud operations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices.

Lead, mentor, and manage a team of cloud engineers and support staff, fostering a high-performance culture.

Oversee the day-to-day operations of cloud infrastructure and services, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.

Establish and optimize processes for incident resolution, root cause analysis, and problem prevention within the cloud environment.

Implement and enforce robust change management procedures to minimize risks and ensure smooth transitions of cloud services.

Monitor and optimize cloud spending, identifying opportunities for cost reduction without compromising service quality.

Manage relationships with service providers, ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met.

Ensure cloud operations adhere to regulatory compliance requirements and security best practices.

Forecast future cloud resource needs and plan for scaling infrastructure to meet business demands.

Provide regular reports on cloud performance, availability, usage, consumption, and cost metrics to senior management.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Cloud providers Certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional or equivalent) are highly preferred.

ITIL certification (Foundation, Practitioner, or Intermediate) is highly preferred

Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) is highly preferred.

Experience:

15 + years of experience in IT operations, with at least 7-9 years in a leadership role specifically managing cloud environments.

Competences and Skills:
Technical Skills:
Public Cloud Platforms: In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with at least one major public cloud provider (e.g., AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform). Familiarity with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments is a significant plus.
Private Cloud Platforms & Management: In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with at least one major private cloud provider (e.g., Redhat OpenStack, RedHat CloudForms, VMware vCloud Director) and its components to manage and operate service in multitenant model.
Operating Systems: Strong command of Linux (various distributions like RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS) and Windows Server environments.
Virtualization Technologies: In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with at least one major server virtualization platform (e.g., KVM, RedHat Virtualization, VMware vSphere (ESXi/vCenter), Microsoft Hyper-V).
Containerization & Orchestration: In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with at least one major Containerization platforms (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift).
Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Hands-on experience with Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent automation tools.
Monitoring & Logging Tools: Solid understanding and practical experience with tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, Datadog.
Networking: Deep understanding of cloud networking concepts including VPCs, subnets, routing, security groups, load balancers, and VPNs across both public and private cloud environments. Proven experience with network virtualization technologies (e.g., SDN, NFV, NSX) is essential.
Cloud Cybersecurity: Extensive hands-on experience in implementing and managing cloud security best practices. This includes in-depth knowledge of identity and access management (IAM), data encryption strategies, Next Generation Firewalls (NGFWs), Web Application Firewalls (WAFs), Endpoint security (EPP), Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools, compliance frameworks, and incident response within cloud environments.
Scripting Languages: Proficiency in scripting with Python, PowerShell, and Bash.
Database Technologies: Experience with cloud-native databases and traditional databases
