We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Automation Engineer with a robust background in telecommunications. This role combines exceptional technical expertise with strong communication skills, allowing you to serve as a pivotal consultant for our clients. You will collaborate closely with customers to understand their requirements; design tailored solutions and implement automation strategies that enhance their communication infrastructures.

In this position, your daily tasks will include gathering and analyzing user requirements, configuring, testing, and optimizing automation solutions on-site, and customizing products to align with business needs. You will play a critical role in performing end-to-end testing of communication systems and delivering solutions for complex, high-impact challenges.

DAY-TO-DAY MANAGEMENT

• Collaborate with clients to gather comprehensive requirements, design, and implement innovative automation solutions.
• Provide technical guidance to clients for preparing hardware and/or cloud environments ensuring seamless integration.
• Lead the deployment of Infovista automation solutions using best practices:
• Plan, implement, validate, and test solutions
• Document processes and troubleshoot issues
• Deliver ongoing support and optimization
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients through exemplary technical acumen and active listening.
• Manage projects from inception through final delivery, ensuring alignment with client objectives and timelines.
• Work independently with minimal supervision while coordinating with internal teams.
• 7+ years of technical engineering experience
• 7+ years of Telecom vendor and/or mobile operator experience
• 2+ years of Software Engineering
• Proficiency with containerization tools (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)
• Understanding of container tools and technologies: e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Rancher
• Experience technically rolling out projects across multiple technology platforms preferred
• Hands-on experience with the implementation, configuration and monitoring of complex software solutions
• For Ativa APP (Probe Management):
• Establish subject matter expertise of services, call flows, and protocols
• Experience in configuring and troubleshooting telecom technologies:
• VOIP architectures and protocols (IMS, SIP, RTP, DIAMETER, H.248)
• Circuit Switch / SS7 Core protocols (ISUP, MAP, CAMEL)
• Mobile Access/Core technologies (3G, 4G, and 5G user and data plane)
• For Ativa NET (Network Management):
• collecting, analyzing, and reporting on various metrics and indicators of network health, such as bandwidth, latency, jitter, packet loss, throughput, and errors.
• Experience with enterprise-level network design, engineering, and administration.
• Experience with common networking devices such as firewalls, switches, and fabric interconnects. Commonly used brands include Cisco, Meraki, Juniper, Checkpoint, etc. Knowledge IP Routing & Switching BGP, OSPF, MPLS, L2-VPNs, technologies, and protocols e.g. SNMP, Spanning-tree protocol, LACP, BFD, UDLD, etc.
• Deep understanding of telecom technologies and protocols, including VOIP (IMS, SIP, RTP, Diameter), circuit switch/SS7, core protocols, and mobile technologies (3G, 4G, 5G)
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Self-directed, self-motivated, professional services traits - excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Experience with Linux platforms (RedHat, CentOS, Suse, etc.)
• Experience with programming / scripting languages: Perl, Bash, Python, SOAP, XML
• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science/Math/engineering or related field required or 5 years of equivalent work experience
