Role Overview

The Account Manager will act as a strategic client partner responsible for managing a portfolio of corporate clients across accounting, tax, corporate services, and advisory engagements. The role goes beyond relationship management and requires strong technical understanding of UAE compliance (VAT, Corporate Tax, ESR, AML/CFT) and the ability to proactively identify risks, opportunities, and value-added services.

This position serves as the primary interface between clients and internal delivery teams, ensuring high-quality service delivery, regulatory compliance, and revenue growth across assigned accounts.

Key Responsibilities

Client Relationship & Portfolio Management

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of SME and mid-market clients across mainland and free zones.

  • Act as the trusted advisor to clients on accounting, tax, and compliance matters.

  • Build long-term relationships with key client stakeholders, including  Finance Managers, and business owners.

  • Conduct regular client meetings (monthly/quarterly reviews) to assess service quality, risks, and opportunities.

Service Delivery & Compliance Oversight

Oversee delivery of:

    • Bookkeeping and financial reporting (IFRS aligned)

    • VAT compliance (returns, refunds, health checks)

    • UAE Corporate Tax filings and advisory

    • Payroll and WPS compliance

    • Corporate services (licensing, renewals, UBO, ESR, AML)

    • Review key outputs and ensure quality control before client submission.
    • Identify compliance risks early and escalate internally
    • Ensure all deliverables meet UAE regulatory standards, including:
    • UAE Corporate Tax Law

    • UAE VAT Law

    • Federal Tax Authority guidelines


Commercial Growth & Advisory

Identify and drive upsell and cross-sell opportunities, including:

    • Corporate tax advisory and structuring

    • Transfer pricing documentation

    • VAT health checks and voluntary disclosures

    • CFO/outsourced finance function services

    • Support proposal development, pricing, and client presentations.
    • Contribute to revenue growth targets and client retention KPIs.

Engagement & Project Management

Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously with strict adherence to deadlines.

  • Implement structured workflows for:

    • Monthly closings

    • VAT filings

    • CT reporting cycles

    • Track engagement profitability and utilization.
    • Ensure proper scoping, onboarding, and documentation of all new clients.

Internal Coordination

Work closely with:

    • Accounting and bookkeeping teams

    • Tax specialists (VAT & Corporate Tax)

    • Corporate services / PRO teams

    • HR & payroll teams

    • Translate client requirements into clear internal deliverables.
    • Drive accountability across teams for timely execution.

Reporting & Performance Monitoring

Prepare and present:

    • Monthly client dashboards (financials, KPIs, compliance status)

    • Revenue and pipeline reports

    • Client health and risk reports

Monitor

    • Client satisfaction

    • SLA adherence

    • Billing and collections


Risk, Governance & AML Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with:

  • UAE AML/CFT regulations

  • Client onboarding (CDD/EDD)

  • Sanctions screening requirements

  • Liaise with compliance teams on high-risk clients.

  • Maintain proper documentation for audit and regulatory reviews.


Market Awareness & Thought Leadership

Stay updated on:

  • UAE Corporate Tax developments

  • VAT updates and FTA clarifications

  • Free zone compliance requirements

  • Provide insights to clients and internal teams.

  • Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and client alerts.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)

  • Professional qualifications preferred:

    • ACCA / CPA / CA / ACA

    • UAE Tax Agent certification (strong advantage)

  • Minimum:

    • 5–7 years experience in accounting/tax/professional services

    • 5+ years UAE experience (essential)

  • Strong working knowledge of:

    • UAE VAT and Corporate Tax

    • Financial reporting and IFRS basics

    • Payroll and WPS processes

Technical Skills

  • Experience with accounting platforms (e.g., Zoho Books, QuickBooks, Xero)

  • Strong Excel and financial analysis capability

  • CRM systems (e.g., Zoho CRM) for client tracking

  • Familiarity with reporting dashboards and automation tools
