We are seeking a hands-on Regional HR Head/Manager to build and strengthen our talent capability across the region (Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand & Vietnam). The immediate priority will focus on Talent Acquisition by attracting and hiring high-calibre talent for key business functions while building a strong talent pipeline. As the organisation grows, you will partner closely with senior management to drive HR strategies, performance management, organisational development and employee engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition
- Lead end-to-end regional recruitment strategies for key functions (Business Development, Trading, Finance, Operations and Technical).
- Source high-calibre candidates via LinkedIn, professional networks, direct sourcing and management of executive search agencies.
- Conduct competency-based interviews, advise hiring managers and manage recruitment KPIs (time-to-hire, quality-of-hire).
- Drive employer branding initiatives to build a strong long-term talent pipeline.
Organisation Development
- Partner with department heads to identify organisational capability gaps and workforce planning needs.
- Establish HR policies, procedures and governance frameworks. Develop and drive performance management systems, KPIs and appraisal processes.
- Build succession plans and leadership capabilities to develop a strong second layer of management.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration and knowledge sharing to break down operational silos.
Employee Relations & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with Malaysian Employment Act and relevant regional labour regulations.
- Advise management on HR compliance, handle disciplinary cases, grievances and domestic inquiries in accordance with employment law.
- Drive engagement and retention initiatives to build a positive work environment.
Strategic Compensation & Advisory
- Benchmark and recommend competitive compensation and benefits strategies to attract and retain key talent.
- Support Management as a strategic HR partner in developing talent strategies aligned with the Company's business growth objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in HR, Business or related field with minimum 8 years of HR experience (including 5 years in a senior HR leadership role).
- Proven track record in recruiting technical, specialist and commercial or business development talent, ideally within Manufacturing, Commodities or Recycling industries.
- Strong knowledge of Malaysian Labour Law; experience with Singapore or other ASEAN employment regulations is a strong plus.
- Hands-on leader with strong business acumen, high proactiveness and excellent stakeholder management skills.
