What we are looking for🤓

We are seeking a well-rounded, hands-on Services Engineer. This is a full-time position with a focus on building and delivering amazing backend software services for our products and solutions. As a backend engineer, you’ll be key to the design, implementation, and maintenance of our enterprise software solutions. You are expected to exemplify exceptional coding standards, utilize relevant tools and platforms, and aid in establishing the best practices for the backend team.

Responsibilities:

• 3+ years' experience as a backend software engineer.
• 3+ years' experience working with AWS or equivalent IAAS/SAAS providers.
• Demonstrated experience with modern web development languages like NodeJS.
• Experience with NodeJS frameworks - Express, Sails, Nest, etc.
• Background with distributed systems, databases, and performance analysis.

• Understanding of Restful concepts and best practices. web technologies and internet protocols.
• Experience writing secure, RESTful APIs with performant database queries.
• Experience with architecture frameworks, patterns, and principles. E.g., TOGAF, WAF.
• Experience with both relational and non-relational database solutions - MySQL/NoSQL
• Experience building solutions leveraging one or more of the following AWS services:

• EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, Redis, Secrets, SQS, SNS, etc.
• Ability to design and implement scalable distributed systems using AWS server less technologies
• Lambda, API Gateway, Cloud Watch, Cloud Front
• Experience with distributed source control solutions (we use Git)
• Contribute to the entire development lifecycle including requirements gathering, design, debugging, testing, and deployment

• Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
• Linux experience
• Attend release planning meetings. Provide input on required steps, assumptions, risks, and other notable details that lead to successful release results.

What it takes:

• Experience working in AWS across multiple environments, multiple AZ’s, multiple geographies, IAM roles, Route53, ELB’s, and VPC peering.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent demonstrated work experience in delivering complex, rich, business applications.
• Ability to lead architectural discussions and present technical recommendations
• Participate in code reviews, pair programming, helping peers, and creating technical documentation
• The ability to work with cross-functional teams in a rapidly growing environment is important.
• Effective communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to give and receive constructive feedback in an agile environment.

• Relevant experience in Agile or Scrum Software Development methodologies

Nice to have skills:

• Experience with writing and presenting architecture-related documentation. I.e., Logical architecture diagrams, networking CIDR, etc.
• Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence)
• AWS Developer Certification

• AWS Solutions Architect Certification (Associate or Professional).
