FRANKENSTEYN SERVICES PTY LTD is a locally owned mobile mechanical services business operating from McCully's Gap, NSW since January 2020. We specialise in the service, repair and overhaul of heavy diesel machinery and equipment, including component rebuilds, air-conditioning systems, and mobile hydraulic hose fabrication. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a qualified Auto Electrician to join our team servicing clients across the Hunter Valley Coalfields.

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Automotive Electrician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, installing, and maintaining electrical systems and components in motor vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnosing faults in vehicle electrical systems using diagnostic equipment and specialised tools
  • Repairing and replacing faulty electrical wiring, circuits, and components
  • Testing and servicing batteries, alternators, starter motors, ignition systems, and electronic control systems
  • Installing electrical accessories such as lighting, alarms, GPS systems, and entertainment units
  • Interpreting technical diagrams, wiring schematics, and service manuals
  • Conducting system performance tests and ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications
  • Maintaining accurate records of repairs, parts used, and work completed
  • Ensuring all work complies with safety standards and industry regulations
  • Collaborating with mechanics and other technicians to resolve complex vehicle issues
  • Staying up to date with evolving automotive electrical technologies, including hybrid and electric vehicle systems

Skills & Qualifications

  • Relevant trade qualification in Automotive Electrical Technology or equivalent suitable experience
  • Proven experience as an Automotive Electrician
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
  • Proficiency with modern diagnostic tools and software
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and wiring diagrams
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid driver's licence
