Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Technician or Tradesworker (NEC) to assist in supporting our kaolin mining operations at the Pittong site. This role will involve a range of duties focused on the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of mining equipment and machinery to ensure safety, compliance, and optimal production. The position is suited to someone with a hands-on approach who enjoys solving technical problems in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Support:

• Assist with daily mining operations to achieve production targets while ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Operate and monitor a variety of mining equipment, such as excavators, loaders, and haul trucks.
• Conduct routine inspections and assist with preventive maintenance of mining machinery to minimize downtime.
• Support the coordination between the mining and processing teams for seamless operations.
• Assist with planning and executing mining tasks, including drilling and excavation.

Safety & Compliance:

• Follow workplace health and safety procedures, ensuring adherence to relevant mining and environmental
• regulations.
• Conduct risk assessments, identify hazards, and recommend measures to address them.
• Respond to emergencies and assist in the management of incidents, including documentation and corrective actions.
• Assist in training mining crews in equipment usage, safety procedures, and environmental policies.

Technical & Maintenance Support:

• Assist in the selection, operation, and maintenance of mining machinery suitable for kaolin extraction.
• Help diagnose mechanical and electrical issues in mining machinery, and coordinate repairs with maintenance teams.
• Work with engineers and other technical staff to improve mining operations and contribute to sustainable practices.
• Maintain records of equipment performance, inspections, and operational data to support ongoing improvements.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Certificate III or IV in Mining Operations, Engineering, or related fields, or an equivalent qualification or at least three
• years of relevant experience.
• Experience in mining operations or similar heavy industry settings.
• Ability to operate various mining machinery, including loaders, drills, and haul trucks.
• Basic understanding of mining safety and environmental compliance standards.
• Familiarity with troubleshooting and maintaining mechanical and hydraulic systems in industrial equipment.
