Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Broadacre Crop Grower to lead and manage crop production activities across our farm. This role requires a hands-on leader who can coordinate all aspects of broadacre farming, ensuring optimal production while upholding high safety and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and oversee the entire crop production cycle, from soil preparation to harvest, considering environmental and market conditions

Select seeds and plant stock and develop cultivation, fertilization, and irrigation strategies to maintain crop health and maximize yield

Organize farming routines, including collection, storage, grading, and packaging of produce

Manage the sale, purchase, and dispatch of crops efficiently

Supervise general farm activities to manage biosecurity risks and control pests and weeds

Maintain farm infrastructure including machinery, equipment, sheds, and irrigation systems

Keep accurate records of farm operations and monitor market trends to inform production planning

Utilize farm data and technology systems for monitoring and decision-making

Oversee business aspects such as budgeting, taxation, and financial management

Select, train, and supervise staff and contractors as required

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

Proven experience in broadacre cropping, with strong leadership skills to motivate and manage teams

Ability to work independently with effective time management

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Commitment to safe work practices and compliance with industry standards

Certificate III or higher in Agriculture, Agribusiness, or a related field; however, five or more years of relevant practical experience will also be considered

Up-to-date knowledge of modern broadacre farming techniques, including precision agriculture and sustainable practices

Valid driver's license
