We are now seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Cook to join our dynamic kitchen team.
Key Responsibilities
Planning and preparing menu items in collaboration with the Head Chef and kitchen team.
Seasoning, preparing, cooking, and presenting a variety of dishes using diverse methods including grilling, frying, roasting, and baking.
Examining and monitoring food quality during preparation and presentation to ensure high standards.
Ensuring portion control and consistency of meals served.
Managing inventory by ordering supplies, receiving, and checking deliveries to maintain stock levels.
Maintaining a clean and hygienic workspace, following food safety and sanitation regulations strictly.
Training and supervising kitchen hands and junior staff where required.
Monitoring and minimizing food wastage, contributing to kitchen efficiency and sustainability practices.
Collaborating with the broader team to deliver excellent customer experiences.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent (highly desirable).
Proven experience working in a fast-paced commercial kitchen.
Commitment to delivering consistently high-quality food.
Ability to work well under pressure in a busy environment.
Understanding and adherence to food safety and hygiene standards.
Good communication skills and a proactive team spirit.
Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays, and split shifts.
