SALARY $73,500 - $80,000 PER ANNUM

We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Pressure Welder to join our team. This hands-on role involves interpreting technical drawings, selecting and preparing materials, executing high-quality welds, and contributing to the overall success of fabrication and installation projects.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate precision, leadership, and a deep understanding of welding standards and techniques, especially in high-pressure environments.
Key Responsibilities
Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications to determine welding requirements, including materials and techniques.
Select appropriate metal stock and prepare materials through cutting, grinding, and shaping to meet job specifications.
Cut and shape metal components using hand tools, oxy-acetylene torches, and machinery to precise measurements.
Bend and form metal sheets, pipes, and bars using specialized equipment and manual techniques to achieve specified dimensions and angles.
Align and position components using precision tools to ensure accuracy and secure fit before welding.
Perform high-quality welds in accordance with Australian standards and internal weld procedures.
Use mechanical fasteners such as bolts or rivets where required to support structural integrity.
Inspect welds for quality, ensuring penetration, bead consistency, and compliance with specifications.
Finish welds by cleaning, polishing, and applying treatments to ensure aesthetic and structural standards are met.
Collaborate with and mentor team members to foster skill development and efficient workflow.
Maintain a safe working environment by following company protocols and promoting a culture of safety.
Diagnose welding equipment issues and coordinate preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
Qualifications and Skills
Relevant certification in welding or a minimum of 3 years experience in pressure welding roles.
Proven ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Advanced knowledge of welding techniques, materials, equipment, and safety practices.
Strong communication and leadership skills, with a collaborative approach to teamwork.
High attention to detail and commitment to quality control and assurance.
