Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Poultry Farmer - Broiler Farm Manager to manage all farm operations, ensuring the health,

welfare, and productivity of our poultry while meeting business goals. This role involves overseeing production, livestock management, staff supervision, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

o Main Responsibilities

Oversee daily broiler farm operations ensuring bird health and productivity.

Monitor flock metrics using automated systems (e.g., feed/water intake, body weight).

Implement and audit biosecurity, quarantine, and vermin control procedures.

Coordinate staff and contractor scheduling using workforce software.

Supervise humane depopulation and coordinate with the processing plant.

Administer vaccines and maintain medical and flock health records.

Manage farm administration using digital systems and reporting tools.

Conduct safety and quality assurance audits; enforce OH&S and animal welfare standards.

Oversee equipment maintenance, feed scheduling, shed setups, and chick deliveries.

Lead and train staff in poultry husbandry and modern farming practices.

Drive sustainability initiatives and manage emergency preparedness.

Strong leadership and people management.

Deep understanding of poultry husbandry and welfare.

Proficiency in digital farm management tools and IoT systems.

Analytical and problem-solving ability (especially in data-driven farming).

Strong communication and coordination skills across teams and contractors.

Knowledge of biosecurity, vaccination protocols, and animal welfare legislation.

Competence in quality assurance and safety compliance.

o Experience, Including Number of Years

Minimum 5+ years experience in broiler or poultry farm management.

Proven experience supervising large-scale operations and leading farm teams.

Experience using technology for health monitoring, data analysis, and automation in farming preferred.

o Qualifications

Diploma or Degree in Agricultural Science, Animal Science, Veterinary Technology, or a related field.

Certificate III or higher in Poultry Production or Rural Operations (desirable).

Formal training in OH&S, biosecurity, or quality management systems (advantageous).

Current drivers license (mandatory).
