The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists for a skilled and experienced Technical Sales Representative to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. This role requires a commercially focused professional with strong technical aptitude who can effectively promote and sell complex industrial products and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities within designated markets through consistent and credible site management as well as grow established coal accounts
- Maintain and grow relationships with existing clients through regular engagement and support.
- Engage with CHPP Engineers, maintenance teams, and site leadership
- Analyse customer requirements and recommend suitable technical products and solutions, support shutdowns planning, relines and wear optimization initiatives
- Prepare detailed proposals, quotations, and tender submissions
- Deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations to clients
- Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support to ensure customer satisfaction
- Collaborate with internal engineering and operational teams to deliver tailored solutions
- Monitor market conditions, competitor activity, and emerging industry trends
- Meet or exceed sales targets and performance objectives
- Maintain accurate documentation of sales activities and client communications
- Provide sales reports.
Skills, Experience and qualifications
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience in technical or industrial sales and a Bachelor Degree in engineering or a related field, alternatively 5 years of experience in the relevant field.
- Demonstrated ability to sell technical products or services in a B2B environment
- Strong technical knowledge of industrial, mechanical, or engineering-related products and sales in mining and coal processing
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to understand and interpret technical specifications and client requirements
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems
- Interpretation of drawings
- Willing to travel
- Strong understanding of CHPP environments, slurry systems or wear protection
