INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER

PERMANENT FULL-TIME
ANNUAL SALARY: $77 500 TO $94 000
Main Responsibilities
- Analyse existing fabrication processes (cutting, welding, assembly, machining) and identify inefficiencies
- Develop and implement process improvements to increase productivity and reduce downtime
- Conduct time and motion studies to optimise labour and machine utilisation
- Design and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and workflow systems
- Assist with production planning, scheduling, and capacity optimisation
- Monitor KPIs such as output rates, rework, scrap, and efficiency
- Collaborate with workshop supervisors and management to improve operational performance
- Support cost analysis, budgeting, and quoting processes
- Assist in the introduction of new equipment, tooling, and automation systems
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and workplace health & safety regulations
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen)
Skills
- Strong understanding of manufacturing and fabrication processes
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies
- Ability to analyse production data and identify improvement opportunities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and production/ERP systems (M1)
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Strong problem-solving and organisational skills
- Effective communication with both workshop personnel and management
Experience, Including Number of Years
- Minimum 2–5 years relevant experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
- Demonstrated experience in:
- Process improvement and optimisation
- Production/workflow analysis
- Working with fabrication teams (welders, machinists, boilermakers)
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
