Position Overview

The Technical Sales Representative is responsible for driving business growth through the promotion, technical support, and sale of specialised Encoparts products within the Australian market.

This role combines advanced technical knowledge with commercial acumen to deliver tailored solutions to clients in the mining, construction, and heavy industry sectors.

The position involves engaging with existing and prospective clients, understanding their operational requirements,
and recommending technically appropriate products and solutions.


Key Responsibilities

Technical Sales & Advisory

  • Provide expert technical advice to clients on the selection, application, and performance of specialised spare parts and engineered components
  • Analyse customer requirements and recommend tailored product solutions based on engineering specifications and operational needs
  • Conduct product presentations, technical demonstrations, and site visits

Business Development & Client Management

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients across mining, construction, and industrial sectors
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand market share
  • Manage the full sales cycle, including prospecting, quoting, negotiation, and closing

Product Expertise & Market Support

  • Act as the primary technical expert in Australia for Encoparts products
  • Provide insights into product performance, reliability, and lifecycle optimisation
  • Liaise with global engineering and manufacturing teams regarding product improvements and customer feedback

Commercial Strategy & Reporting

  • Contribute to the development and execution of sales strategies aligned with company objectives
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer demands
  • Prepare and present sales reports, forecasts, and performance metrics

After-Sales & Technical Support

  • Support clients with troubleshooting, failure analysis, and ongoing technical guidance
  • Assist in resolving technical claims and ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Ensure long-term client retention through high-quality service delivery

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in technical sales, engineering, or industrial product solutions
  • Demonstrated experience working with mining, construction, or heavy equipment sectors
  • Strong understanding of mechanical components, spare parts, and equipment reliability

Desirable:

  • Experience working with global suppliers or OEMs (e.g. Caterpillar or similar)
  • Exposure to failure analysis, reliability engineering, or lifecycle management

Experience managing key accounts and high-value contracts
