The Team
The Associate Platform Engineer will be part of a highly skilled team working to take the platform to the next level. You will be involved in the evolution of the platform and internal systems as the company scales. The platform team is responsible for cloud and internal systems as well as security. The associate role will focus on the internal systems and people support and grow into cloud support.
We are seeking someone who fulfills these requirements to enhance our team's capabilities:
Assisting with Platform Deployment
- Deploy software applications and services onto the platform.
- Following predefined procedures and working closely with senior engineers to ensure successful deployments.
Monitoring and Maintenance
- Monitoring system performance, identifying potential issues, and performing routine maintenance tasks using Azure monitor and Grafana
- Checking system logs, analysing performance metrics, and troubleshooting Azure Monitor Alerts using Kusto queries in Log Analytics Workspace.
Troubleshooting
- Troubleshoot issues that are logged internally on systems like Windows, O365, Bitdefender, Jira and general support.
- Investigating system alerts, diagnosing problems, and implementing solutions under the guidance of senior leaders.
Configuration Management
- Assist with managing the configuration of software applications and services on the platform.
- Updating configurations, applying security patches, and ensuring consistency across environments focusing on Linux
Automation
- Assist in the development of automation scripts and tools to streamline platform management tasks.
Required experience to be successful in this role
- 2-5 years support / cloud engineer experience
- Industry standard baseline security
- Industry standard cloud certifications
- Azure fundamentals / Azure entra ID admin
- Troubleshooting skills, including operating system troubleshooting, hardware, software and cloud technologies.
- Basic experience with Linux systems, including troubleshooting and setup.
- Understanding of basic containerization concepts using technologies like Docker.
- O365 admin
- Intune / Jumpcloud admin
- VPN / CATO SASE experience
Additional Skills/Experience (Beneficial)
- Ability to maximize knowledge transfer by producing high-quality documentation
- Experience with the ISO 27001 security framework
