Job Description:

1- Installation: Plumbers install various plumbing systems in buildings, including water supply lines, drainage
systems, fixtures (such as sinks, toilets, showers, and bathtubs), water heaters, and appliances like dishwashers
and washing machines.
2-Maintenance: Plumbers perform routine maintenance on plumbing systems to ensure they function properly
and efficiently. This may involve inspecting pipes, checking for leaks, cleaning drains, and replacing worn-out
parts.
3- Repair: When plumbing systems break down or malfunction, plumbers are called in to diagnose and repair the
problem. This could involve fixing leaks, unclogging drains, repairing or replacing damaged pipes, and troubleshooting issues with fixtures and appliances.
4- Troubleshooting: Plumbers use their expertise to identify the root cause of plumbing problems and develop solutions to resolve them. This often requires knowledge of plumbing codes, regulations, and best practices.
5- Emergency Services: Plumbers are often available for emergency call-outs to address urgent plumbing issues such as burst pipes, gas leaks, or sewage backups. They must respond quickly to prevent further damage and
ensure the safety of occupants

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a vocational training program, apprenticeship, or technical diploma in plumbing from a recognized institution.
  • Additional certifications or licenses related to plumbing, such as trade certifications or licenses issued by the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (DED) or other relevant regulatory authorities.
  • Valid and up-to-date plumber's license or certification issued by the relevant regulatory authority in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), such as the Abu Dhabi Distribution Company (ADDC) or the Regulation and Supervision Bureau (RSB) for the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
  • Completion of any required safety training and certifications, such as Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) certification or First Aid/CPR certification.

Skills:

  1. Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in reading and interpreting plumbing blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
    • Knowledge of plumbing codes, regulations, and standards applicable to the UAE, including those set forth by local authorities and regulatory bodies.
    • Competence in using a wide range of plumbing tools and equipment, such as pipe wrenches, pipe cutters, soldering equipment, and drain augers.
  2. Plumbing Systems Knowledge:

    • Understanding of different types of plumbing systems, including water supply systems, drainage systems, and sewage systems.
    • Familiarity with various piping materials, fittings, and fixtures commonly used in plumbing installations, such as copper pipes, PVC pipes, and faucets.
  3. Safety and Compliance:

    • Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety protocols and procedures.
    • Knowledge of plumbing safety practices and regulations to ensure the safety of oneself, colleagues, and the public.
    • Compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards governing plumbing work in Abu Dhabi and the UAE.
