Laboratory Technician (Food Microbiology)

Job Purpose
Conducts microbiological analysis of collected food and environmental samples to identify contamination or non-compliance with regulatory limits.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and register food and water samples for microbiological testing.
- Perform testing procedures such as total plate count, E. coli, Salmonella, Listeria, and other indicator/pathogen detection.
- Prepare culture media, maintain instruments, and perform calibrations.
- Record, validate, and report test results in accordance with SOPs and quality standards.
- Adhere to ISO/IEC 17025 quality system and laboratory biosafety protocols.
- Participate in proficiency testing and internal audits as required.
- Participate in client briefings and VVIP food safety risk evaluations.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Microbiology, Biology, or related science.
- 2-3 years of relevant lab experience in food or water testing.
- Strong understanding of HACCP and ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
- Knowledge of DOH or ESMA microbiological test standards is an advantage.
